- Permits use of silver-free electrolytes, prevents silver chloride loss from temperature-induced variations
- Result: an extremely stable reference potential, providing long electrode life
- Testing at German Federal Physical Technical Institute in Braunschweig determined this electrode design to be the most accurate laboratory electrode
