Ly-6C is expressed on monocyte/macrophage cells, endothelial cells, granulocytes and a subset of lymphocytes. Mice strains with the Ly-6.2 alloantigen have subsets of both Ly-6C positive CD4 and CD8 cells while Ly-6.1 expressing strains have only the CD8 Ly-6C positive subset.
