Lonza™ FlashGel™ FLX Cassettes
Description
FlashGel™ FLX Cassettes are precast gels for use with the FlashGel™ System. The FlashGel™ FLX Cassette supports the separation of either DNA or RNA, unlike standard FlashGel™ Cassettes. Band visualization is enabled through DNA- or RNA-specific stains included in the corresponding FlashGel™ FLX Prestain Loading Buffers. To separate DNA with FlashGel™ FLX Cassettes, use the FlashGel™ FLX DNA Prestain Loading Buffer (Cat. No. 316992) and to separate RNA, use the FlashGel™ FLX RNA Prestain Loading Buffer (Cat. No. 316992). Additionally, FlashGel™ FLX Cassettes offer an extended shelf life compared to standard FlashGel™ Cassettes, enhancing convenience and flexibility in routine workflows. FlashGel™ FLX Cassettes are fully compatible with the existing FlashGel™ System. They provide additional flexibility and convenience to the fastest system for separating DNA and RNA and monitoring band migration in real time. This highly sensitive system allows a 5 to 20X reduction in sample size - saving both time and money - completing separations within 5 minutes. Main benefits are:
- Extended shelf life for reliable long-term use
- Exceptional sensitivity and sharp resolution
- Separation in as little as 5 minutes
- Separate either DNA or RNA with same cassette
- Real-time separation and instant documentation
- Quick checks for enzymatic reactions (e.g., PCR amplification, restriction digestion, or T7 endonuclease cleavage)
- Capture gel images directly at the bench - no need for UV transilluminators
Note that FlashGel™ FLX Cassettes are not recommended for recovery applications. Optimal separation range:
- DNA: 100 bp - 10 kb separation range (separation of fragments >4kb will be improved by running longer at a lower voltage)
- RNA: 0.5 - 9 kb separation range
