Flecainide hydrochloride is an orally active antiarrhythmic agent. It blocks sodium channels and inhibits calcium ion release mediated by the cardiac ryanodine receptor (RyR2). It can be used in the research of diseases such as catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT).
- In vitro: flecainide (hydrochloride) (500 nM) significantly reduces irregular Ca2+ release in single cardiomyocytes derived from ATS-iPSCs.
- In vivo: flecainide (hydrochloride) (20 mg/kg; intraperitoneal injection; single dose) completely inhibits catecholamine-induced ventricular arrhythmias in Casq2 knockout mice.
