Fluid A is a sterile rinsing and diluting fluid prepared according to United States Pharmacopeia (USP) specifications for sterility testing. Each bottle contains 500mL of a clear solution consisting of 0.1% peptic digest of animal tissue (peptone) dissolved in purified water. The formulation contains no antimicrobial preservatives or selective additives, ensuring compatibility with microbial recovery procedures. In pharmaceutical and medical device sterility testing, Fluid A is widely used as a membrane filtration rinse to remove bacteriostatic or fungistatic residues remaining on the filter after sample processing.
