Flunixin meglumine is a cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor exhibiting anti-inflammatory effects. It inhibits lipopolysaccharide-induced inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) activity and nuclear factor kappa B (NfκB) activation in RAW 264.7 murine macrophages. In vivo, it inhibits carrageenan-induced exudate PGE2 and serum TXB2 generation.
