Vector Laboratories Aleuria Aurantia Lectin (AAL), Fluorescein-labeled 1 mg

Supplier: Vector Laboratories FL13911

Aleuria aurantia lectin (AAL) is a dimer of two identical subunits of about 36 kDa each that binds preferentially to fucose linked (α -1,6) to N-acetylglucosamine or to fucose linked (α -1,3) to N-acetyllactosamine-related structures, unlike Ulex europaeus and Lotus tetragonolobus lectins which prefer (α -1,2)-linked fucose residues. AAL also reversibly binds fucose that is attached to nucleic acids. This fluorescein-labeled AAL features a ratio of fluorophores to lectin protein that provides optimal staining (excitation 495 nm, emission 515 nm). Supplied as a solution essentially free of unconjugated fluorophores, it is preserved with sodium azide. The recommended inhibiting/eluting sugar is 100 mM L-fucose.
