The 3M Foil Tape 3M 438 is a 2 in. x 60 yd. roll of aluminum foil tape with acrylic adhesive. It has a thickness of 3.6 mils and is used for HVAC sealing, joining, patching and wrapping. The tape has a service temperature range of -20°F to 200°F and offers good reflective properties as well as flame retardance. It bonds well to sheet metal, glass and fiberglass air ducts and fittings. The acrylic adhesive provides good adhesion and shear strength. This foil tape meets UL 723 and ASTM E84 standards for flame spread and smoke development.
