Amyloid Beta Protein (1-42) Sodium, H-Asp-Ala-Glu-Phe-Arg-His-Asp-Ser-Gly-Tyr-Glu-Val-His-His-Gln-Lys-Leu-Val-Phe-Phe-Ala-Glu-Asp-Val-Gly-Ser-Asn-Lys-Gly-Ala-Ile-Ile-Gly-Leu-Met-Val-Gly-Gly-Val-Val-Ile-Ala-OH, 107761-42-2, C203H311N55O60S, Mr 4514.10, 5mg. Ab42 sodium salt. For a detailed description of Ab 1-42, please see product H-1368. For the preparation of Ab for experimental use, Fezoui et al. (2000) found that solvation of synthetic peptide with sodium hydroxide (Ab·NaOH) followed by lyophilization, produced stocks with superior solubility and fibrillogenesis characteristics. Solubilization of the pretreated material with neutral buffers resulted in a pH transition from ≈10.5 to neutral, avoiding the isoelectric point of Ab (pI≈5.5), at which Ab precipitation and aggregation propensity are maximal.
