Forskolin is a labdane diterpene produced by the Indian Coleus plant, Coleus forskohlii. It is commonly used to raise levels of cyclic AMP (cAMP) associated with the study of cell physiology mechanisms. It acts by activating the enzyme adenyl cyclase to increase intracellular levels of this second messenger, which is necessary for the proper biological response of cells to hormones and other extracellular signals. Provided as 2 vials of 0.25 mg dry powder each. These highly purified, pre-validated control ligands have been used to qualify our InCELL Hunter, PathHunter and cAMP Hunter cell lines as well as our Assay Ready Kits. Ligands are conveniently supplied with a recommended reconstitution buffer. For detailed information and product-specific datasheet, visit www.discoverx.com/ligands.
