Fosbretabulin disodium is a tubulin destabilizing agent and a Combretastatin A4 proagent. It selectively targets endothelial cells to induce regression of nascent tumor neovessels, reduce tumor blood flow, and cause central tumor necrosis. This compound shows significant biological activity in vitro against various cancer cell lines and in vivo by increasing mean arterial blood pressure and reducing tumor blood flow.
