Description

Permeates cell membranes. Fura 2-AM, MP Biomedicals is a fluorescent probe for Ca2+ and is used to determine cystolic Ca2+. Fura 2-AM is the acetoxymethyl ester of Fura 2. It is metabolized in vivo to the active ligand Fura 2.

• Able to permeate cell membranes and load Fura 2 into cells
• Inside cells, Fura 2-AM is rapidly hydrolyzed by cytoplasmic esterases
