Gabexate mesylate (FOY) is a competitive and non-antigenic synthetic inhibitor of trypsin-like serine proteinases. It inhibits human thrombin, urokinase, plasmin, and Factor Xa, and binds to human and bovine tryptase. It is used for pancreatitis and disseminated intravascular coagulation, and decreases proliferation rate in HepG2 cells in vitro.
