Galactose Oxidase, Dactylium dendroides (GOase) is a type II copper metalloenzyme derived from fungus, containing a single polypeptide. It is widely utilized in biochemical research due to its catalytic activity. This enzyme facilitates the two-electron oxidation of primary alcohols, converting them into their corresponding aldehydes, and concurrently reduces dioxygen to hydrogen peroxide.
- Catalyzes two-electron oxidation of primary alcohols.
- Reduces dioxygen to hydrogen peroxide.
- Soluble in pure water (1 mg/mL).
- Recommended buffer for catalytic reaction is 0.1 M Potassium phosphate buffer, pH 6.0.
