AdipoGen GCN5 h Hishighly active

Supplier: AdipoGen AG40T0017C002
Protein. Human GCN5 is fused to a His-tag. Source Sf21 cells. Liquid. In 50mM TRIS-HCl, pH 7.5, containing 100mM sodium chloride, 0.2% NP-40, 50mM imidazole and 10% glycerol. Purity >95% SDS-PAGE. GCN5 functions as a histone acetyltransferase HAT to promote transcriptional activation. Acetylation of histones gives a specific tag for epigenetic transcription activation. It has significant histone acetyltransferase activity with core histones, but not with nucleosome core particles. In case of HIV-1 infection, it is recruited by the viral protein Tat. It regulates Tats transactivating activity and may help inducing chromatin remodeling of proviral genes. GCN5 is a component of the Ada Two-A containing ATAC complex, a complex with histone acetyltransferase activity on histones H3 and H4.
