Geldanamycin is an antibiotic and a potent inhibitor of the heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) protein (KD=1.2uM), binding its ATP site and inhibiting its chaperone activity. Induces selective degradation of mutated versions of v-Src, Bcr-Abl, Raf, p53, and steroid receptors in tumor cells via Hsp90 inhibition. Affects multiple cellular processes, including gene expression, cell proliferation, apoptosis, and angiogenesis. Provided as 1 mg of dry powder.
