Gentamicin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that effectively inhibits the growth of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as several strains of mycoplasma in tissue culture. It has also been shown to inhibit DNase I with an IC50 of 0.57 mM.
