GLP-1(7-37) acetate is an intestinal insulinotropic hormone that enhances glucose-induced insulin secretion. It is intended for research use only. In animal studies, GLP-1(7-37) infused intravenously in male Sprague-Dawley rats produced a dose-related enhancement of glucose-stimulated plasma insulin concentration and an increased rate of glucose infusion. A sustained increase in plasma insulin concentration was observed with a continuous infusion.
