Guanidinosuccinic acid is a nitrogenous metabolite that is elevated in the urine and serum of azotemic patients. It is a guanidino compound that has been shown to induce long-lasting generalized clonic and clonic-tonic convulsions in a dose-dependent manner in adult mice when administered intraperitoneally. In young mice, an age-dependent decrease in Guanidinosuccinic acid-induced convulsions and brain concentration was observed. The product is for research use only and not intended for sale to patients.
