Improve pre-hospital patient care training with instructional and hands-on training of hemorrhage control with wound packing and tourniquet application

Arm & Skin:

• Trainer simulates full arm of adult male with realistic outer anatomy
• Skin made of high quality SKINlike™ silicone to simulate human skin and tissue haptics
  • Deep laceration or stab wound (5 cm)
  • Large caliber gunshot wound through and through (GSW)
    • Shows bony landmarks and palpable vessel damage
  • Junctional wound in the shoulder area

Bleeding:

• Bleeding of each wound controlled with manual blood pump system simulating venous or arterial pulsatile blood hemorrhage
• Trainer functions as stand-alone simulator but can be worn by volunteer for added realism and in field training using carrying strap of bag
• Bleeding can be simulated realistically including direct feedback (stop of bleeding) when trainee successfully manages the hemorrhage
  • Bleeding stops when tourniquet has been correctly applied
• Secure blood reservoir (2 L) with manual blood pump system simulating venous or arterial pulsatile blood hemorrahage
• No back flow during wound packing
• Contains 250 mL of artificial blood concentrate

Settings:

• Application of tourniquet can be made high and tight or 5 to 8 cm (2 to 3 in.) above the wound
• Each wound can be hidden with dedicated cover to offer modular injury scenarios
• Each wound bleeds independently
• No batteries needed
• Uses:
  • Suitable for Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Civilian Casualty Care training
  • For realistic training of bleeding control and management of traumatic injuries on the arm
  • Trainer for hemorrhage control on upper extremity with realistic wound and bleeding simulation
