Hepatocyte Thaw Medium

Gibco Hepatocyte Thaw Medium is a ready-to-use medium specifically designed for use with thawed cryopreserved hepatocytes to enhance their viability and overall quality.

Features of Hepatocyte Thaw Medium:

  • Recover cryopreserved hepatocytes with a single centrifugation
  • Designed for use with Gibco human and animal cryopreserved hepatocytes for optimal results
  • Provides high quality hepatocytes suitable for many in vitro assays, including induction, metabolic stability, and transporter assessments

Hepatocyte Thaw Medium is easy to use. Simply warm the bottle of medium to 37°C prior to thawing the cryopreserved hepatocytes. Once the medium is warm, transfer it into a 50-mL centrifuge tube. Once the hepatocytes are thawed, pour the cells into the pre-warmed Hepatocyte Thaw Medium and centrifuge. Remove the supernatant and proceed with the next steps of your experiment. There is no need to centrifuge the hepatocytes a second time.
