This Cogent Bidentate C8 300™ HPLC Column is made with Cogent TYPE-C™ Silica , and an aliphatic hydrocarbon chain with 8 carbon atoms with wide pore size for macro-molecules. This silica hydride based stationary phase provides excellent Selectivity, Faster Equilibration and Extremely Robust Column Lifetimes. This is not a typical C8 column with 300A pore size because it can produce unique selectivity and retain compounds that normally do not retain on other C8 columns made with standard silica. The hydrophobic 5um, particle with direct silicon-carbon bonds, makes this column more hydrophobic than other C8 columns, yet it can retain some hydrophilic compounds as well if desired especially when used in Aqueous Normal Phase. This column can also be used at very low pH (below 2) with no damage to the column, among many other unique benefits. This size column is often used when shorter run times are needed but 50mm long columns do not provide enough resolution.
