This Cogent RP C18 ABX™ Column is a premium value and used in HPLC with extreme pH (2-12) in the Mobile Phase for Acidic or Basic Compounds. It is specially end capped (bulky) and is bonded with an 18 carbon aliphatic hydrocarbon to the highest purity silica available. This column is ideal as an Alternate in USP Methods that use the L1 Classification with acids or bases with a very high or a very low pKa. This Column is very rugged and can be used in typical Reversed Phase HPLC.With a 3µm Particle, this column is more efficient than a 5um column of the same phase and you will experience sharper peaks. However, due to the smaller particle size, there is an increased back pressure. Used for hydrophobic or neutral compounds in Reversed Phase, this Octadecyl Phase is excellent for long chain fatty acids. This narrow-bore column provides good Separations but requires a pump that can precisely deliver, and a flow cell that is made for reduced flow rates with lower volumes.
