This Cogent RP C18 PE™ Column is a premium value and used in HPLC with polar and non polar compounds. Double end capped (fully), it is bonded with an 18 carbon aliphatic hydrocarbon, with an Amide group embedded in the middle of the ligand, using the highest purity silica available. This Column is an ideal Alternate for your USP Methods that uses the L1 Classification and 100% Water as the Mobile Phase for hydrophobic samples. Very rugged, and often called "Polar Embedded", it can be used in typical Reversed Phase or HILIC modes.With a 3µm Particle, this column is more efficient than a 5um column of the same phase and you will experience sharper peaks. However, due to the smaller particle size, there is and increased back pressure. Used for hydrophobic or neutral compounds in Reversed Phase, this Octadecyl Phase is excellent for long chain fatty acids. This column is often chosen for LCMS when increased resolution is desired.
