Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (97%), Rat (97%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-63440. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

HOX homeobox genes play a role both in the early stem cell function as well as in later stages of hematopoietic differentiation. HOXB4, specifically, is a homeotic selector gene implicated in self-renewal of definitive HSCs. Expression of HOXB4 in primitive progenitors combined with culture on hematopoietic stroma induced a switch to the definitive HSC phenotype. Activation of WNT signaling in HSCs induced increased expression of HOXB4. Perturbations of HOX gene expression can cause leukemia.
