Recombinant Protein

After receipt, the product may be stored at -20°C for short-term use (less than 6 months). For long-term storage, we recommend storing the product at -70°C or below for retention of full activity. Thaw product vial by incubation in cold tap water until just thawed. Aliquot and refreeze unused contents to minimize effects of freeze thawing. Refreezing should be done on dry ice or in a dry ice/alcohol bath. Further dilution of product should be in buffers containing protein such as 0.1% BSA or tissue culture media with serum. Dilution for freezing of material below 2 x 10^5 units/mL is not recommended. One freeze thaw cycle is equivalent to thawing an aliquot prepared from the material received.

Human Interferon-alpha 2a produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 165 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 19241 Dalton. The Interferon-a 2a gene was obtained from human leukocytes. The rHuIFN-a 2a is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
