Recombinant Protein

Reconstitution: We recommend the vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute with 250 μL ice cold, sterile, distilled water on ice. Storage: Store this lyophilized preparation at -20°C, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the protein may be stored at 2°C to 8°C for up to one week. For long term storage of the reconstituted protein, apportion into working aliquots and store at -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine. This cytokine can induce the IFN-gamma production of T cells. The combination of this cytokine and IL12 has been shown to inhibit IL4 dependent IgE and IgG1 production, and enhance IgG2a production of B cells. IL-18 binding protein can specifically interact with this cytokine, and thus negatively regulate its biological activity.
