Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (76%), Rat (76%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-82263. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Anti-human Polynucleotide Kinase Mouse Monoclonal Antibody recognizes polynucleotide kinase (PNK), a 57 kDa nuclear enzyme implicated in DNA strand repair processes that occur during DNA replication and recombination, or in response to DNA damaging agents. PNK targets the DNA 5'-hydroxy and 3'-phosphate termini for phosphorylation and dephosphorylation events. During strand breakage in human cells, normal PNK associates with other nuclear proteins to prepare the DNA termini for the enzymatic actions of DNA polymerase-beta and DNA ligase III. PNK is a key functional component in maintaining the genetic stability of human cells.
