This peptide corresponds to 17 amino acid peptide near the center of human PRKCDBP. PEP-1566 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34523. For use as a blocking peptide in Western blot, incubate the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 min at 37°C.

JAB-1 is a 38 kDa protein which was originally described as a coactivator for cJUN. It is present in a large protein complex called the 'Signalosome', which has been proposed to play a signaling role in mammalian cells. This protein complex appears to be analogous to the COP9 complex in plants, which is important in light-mediated plant development. Although the specific function of JAB-1 in this complex is unclear, it has recently been implicated in targeting proteins for degradation by the proteasome.
