Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (40%), Rat (40%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-54181. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

PRKCQ is a calcium-independent, novel isoform that is important in transducing signals in T lymphocytes. Interaction of a T lymphocyte with an antigen-presenting cell results in clustering of the T cell antigen receptor (TCR) and the recruitment of a large signaling complex to the site of cell-cell contact. PRKCQ is essential for TCR-mediated activation. PKC theta plays a role in pathways that link the TCR signaling complex to the activation of NF-kappa B in mature T lymphocytes.
