Humanin (human) Trifluoroacetate, H-Met-Ala-Pro-Arg-Gly-Phe-Ser-Cys-Leu-Leu-Leu-Leu-Thr-Ser-Glu-Ile-Asp-Leu-Pro-Val-Lys-Arg-Arg-Ala-OH, 330936-69-1, C119H204N34O32S2, Mr 2687.27, 0.5mg. Humanin (HN) is a polypeptide suppressing neuronal cell death induced by several familial Alzheimer's disease genes and by amyloid b-protein (1-43) (human). It has been shown that amyloid b-protein (1-40) and amyloid b-protein (1-42) secretion is not affected by humanin in F11 cells expressing the familial Alzheimer's disease gene K595N/M596L-APP. Inhibitory actions on neuronal cell death triggered by K595N/M596L-APP directly and caused by amyloid b-protein have been suggested.
