Description
- Hydrometers are calibrated in accordance with ASTM E126, Inspection and Verification of Hydrometers
- Three readings are supplied
- The reference standards used for calibration are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology
- ISO 9001-2015 Registered
- In addition to manufacturing hydrometers, we also provide a convenient, cost-efficient recalibration service
Two Causes Resulting in Hydrometer Calibration Change
- 1) The scale in the hydrometer stem could change position if subjected to severe mechanical shock or high temperatures. 2) Chemical attack of the glass sleeve. If the hydrometer is routinely used in alkaline or acidic solutions, then it is possible that over time the glass will be “chemically attacked.” When this happens, the glass will become very slightly to significantly opaque. Any change in the clarity of the glass will throw into doubt the accuracy of the hydrometer.
