Indigo carmine, Hi-Cert/ACS is an ACS certified indicator dye (CAS 860-22-0, C.I. 73015, molecular weight 466.36) supplied as blue to dark purple crystals or powder with a copper metallic luster. A 10 ppm aqueous solution gives a clear blue solution, and the dye serves as a sensitive redox indicator, a pH indicator and a biological and analytical stain. It is also used in renal function testing and microscopy. Store below 30 C. Packaged as 25 g.
