Inhibitory Mold Agar, Ulrich is an enriched selective medium for the primary isolation of pathogenic fungi, including dimorphic moulds, from clinical specimens. A nutritious base of tryptone, peptone, yeast extract, dextrose, starch, dextrin and mineral salts encourages fastidious fungi while incorporated chloramphenicol suppresses bacterial competitors, final pH 6.7. Its richer formulation recovers organisms that less-supplemented mycology media may miss. Dehydrated powder, store in a cool dry place. Packaged as 500 g.
