Includes

The InsectSelect BSD Kit includes 20μg each of supercoiled, lyophilized pIB/V5-His and pIB/V5-His/CAT, 2μg of lyophilized OpIE2 Forward and Reverse Sequencing primers, 50mg of Blasticidin, Cellfectin Reagent, and 1L of medium for the insect cell line chosen. Sf9 cells are supplied with GIBCO Grace's Insect Media. High Five cells are supplied with GIBCO Express Five Serum-Free Medium. The pIB/V5-His Vector Kit contains vectors and primers.

The pIB/V5-His vector has several features that facilitate expression, analysis, and detection of recombinant protein in insect cells

  • The OpIE2 promoter for constitutive expression
  • The Blasticidin resistance gene for rapid selection of stably transfected cells in two weeks
  • C-terminal V5 epitope and polyhistidine (6xHis) sequence for detection with Anti-V5 Antibody and rapid purification with nickel-chelating resin
