Recombinant Protein

For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 μg, 10 μg and 20 μg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 μL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. If properly stored at -80C, this product is guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase. This KIT V559D V654A recombinant human protein (544-end) was expressed in insect cells. KIT V559D V654A recombinant human protein is also available in our SelectScreen™ Kinase Profiling Service. Validated for use with the Z'-LYTE™ assay Available in multiple pack sizes for convenient use Also available in our SelectScreen Kinase Profiling Service Protein Form: Recombinant, Active, Catalytic, Mutant The gene accession number for KIT [V559D is NP_000213.1.

KIT receptor tyrosine kinase is a proto-oncogene and a type 3 transmembrane receptor for MGF (mast cell growth factor, also known as stem cell factor). KIT was first identified as the cellular homolog of the feline sarcoma viral oncogene v-kit. KIT together with its ligand regulates growth and activation of a variety of hemopoietic and non-hemopoietic cells. Mutations in KIT are associated with gastrointestinal stromal tumors, mast cell disease, acute myelogenous leukemia, and piebaldism. Recently, deregulation of the KIT receptor TK by the prevalent activation loop mutation D816V has served as a focal point in therapeutic strategies aimed at curbing neoplastic mast cell growth.
