Traditional lipid extraction by the Folch method is tedious and uses toxic chloroform as the key solvent. In addition, the extracted lipids end up in the bottom layer which is inconvenient. Cell Biolabs' Lipid Extraction Kit (Chloroform-Free) uses an organic solvent system that results in the organic phase being on the top, making it easier to use while eliminating the need for chloroform. Each kit provides sufficient reagents for 50 preps based on a 100µL sample size.
