α-Lipoic Acid (Thioctic acid) is an antioxidant and an essential cofactor of mitochondrial enzyme complexes. It inhibits NF-κB-dependent HIV-1 LTR activation and induces endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-mediated apoptosis in hepatoma cells. It can also be used with CPUL1 (HY-151802) to form self-assembled nanoaggregate CPUL1-LA NA, which shows improved antitumor efficacy compared to CPUL1. This product is for research use only.
- Plays an essential role in mitochondrial bioenergetics.
- Reduces lipid accumulation in the liver.
- Increases NAD+/NADH ratio in HepG2 cells.
- Increases SIRT1 activity in HepG2 cells.
- Increases phosphorylation of AMPK and acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) in HepG2 cells.
- Markedly reduces visceral fat mass in C57BL/6J mice.
- Inhibits appetite and causes significant weight loss in mice.
