Low-EDTA TE (1X), pH 8.0 is molecular biology grade TE buffer used to store DNA and RNA. EDTA chelates Mg+2 and other divalent metals ions (inhibits DNAse and RNAse to suppress DNA and RNA degradation). Tris is a buffering agent to keep the solution at a defined pH The Cl or HCl indicates the pH was attained using aqueous hydrochloric acid (HCl), since Tris is naturally basic. Tris-EDTA (TE) is routinely used for suspending nucleic acid samples.

Contains 0.1mM EDTA

Applications: Low EDTA is recommended to re-suspend final purified DNA when DNA is used for downstream PCR
