LRRK2 is a multidomain protein that includes a kinase domain, a GTPase domain, and a leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain. The protein is present largely in the cytoplasm but also associates with the mitochondrial outer membrane. Mutations in LRRK2 (R1441C Mutant) have been associated with Parkinson disease-8.
