Electron Microscopy Sciences LV CryoOil 1.5 ML

Supplier: Electron Microscopy Sciences 60166

LV CryoOil is used in crystallography as a cryoprotectant for samples that are flash cooled and as a barrier to dehydration, solvent evaporation, and oxidation. It has the lowest viscosity of any available perfluoropolyether oil (1/10 that of Paratone oil and compatible to that of vegetable oil) and very low surface tension (less than 1/3 that of water). Consequently, a dip in this oil followed by gentle tapping to remove excess can yield protective oil films on crystals of as little as 10 um thick.
LV CryoOil has extremely low vapor pressure, chemically inert, and excellent thermal stability. 1.5 mL LV CryoOil comes in each vial, enough to protect hundreds of crystals.
