M17 Broth BaseFor the isolation and cultivation of lactic streptococci Does not contain β-glycerophosphate or lactosepH: 7.0Dehydrated Appearance: beige to medium tan, homogeneous powderPrepared Appearance: medium amber brothContains (per liter):Tryptone: 2.5gEnzymtic digest of Animal tissue: 2.5gSoy peptone: 5.0gBeef extract: 5.0gYeast Extract: 2.5gAscorbic Acid: 0.5gMagnesium Sulfate. 7H2O: 0.25gDirection to Use: Dissolve 19.0 grams of disodium β-glycerophosphate to 18.25 grams of medium per 950ml of purified water. Autoclave to sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes, cool to room temperature. Add 50ml of 10% Lactose solution aseptically and mix well before use.
