The 6G5j monoclonal antibody reacts with an antigen epitope shared by mouse carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule (CEACAM) 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8, also known as CD66a, d, e, c, and b. These CEACAMs are highly glycosylated membrane proteins involved in cell adhesion, proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and T and B cell activation.
