The AF6-88.5.5.3 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with the mouse H-2Kb MHC class I alloantigen. MHC class I antigens are heterodimers comprising an alpha chain (44 kDa) and β2 microglobulin (11.5 kDa), expressed by all nucleated cells at varying levels. These molecules are responsible for presenting endogenously synthesized antigenic peptides to CD8 T cells.
