The MR-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD154 (CD40 ligand), a 39 kDa accessory molecule belonging to the TNF superfamily of cytokines. It is primarily expressed on activated CD4+ T lymphocytes and signals through CD40, playing a crucial role in T and B lymphocyte costimulation.
