Malotilate (NKK 105) is an orally active hepatotropic agent and an anti-fibrotic substance. It selectively inhibits 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) with an IC50 of 4.7 μM, preventing hepatocytic injury in alcohol-pyrazole hepatitis and reducing hepatic acetaldehyde levels.
