  • Used to stain the cell bodies and processes of neurons, specifically highlighting the Nissl substance (rough endoplasmic reticulum) within them which allows for the identification and visualization of neuronal structure in tissue sections
  • Compoent is often used in conjunction with other stains like Luxol Fast Blue to visualize both neurons and myelin sheaths in nervous tissue
