  • 5% Sodium Borate can be used to make a working silver stain during the MasterTech G.M.S. Staining procedure
  • The periodic acid oxidizes the carbohydrate components of the basement membrane which produce aldehydes
  • The released aldehydes reduce the silver to a visible metallic silver
