Supplier: Medchemexpress LLC HYW01281750G
Methylhydroquinone is an orally active COX inhibitor with IC50s of 480.7 μM for ovine COX-1 and 52.2 μM for human recombinant COX-2. It has potential DNA damaging effects by inhibiting COX-1 to reduce prostaglandin synthesis and induce anti-inflammatory activity, as well as inducing DNA single-strand breaks. Methylhydroquinone competitively binds to the active sites of COX-1 (such as Tyr385, Met522) and interacts via non-covalent interactions. It is for research use only and not sold to patients.
