Midaglizole hydrochloride, also known as (±)-DG5128 or DG5128, is a potent α2-adrenoceptor antagonist and a hypoglycemic agent. It has been shown to increase blood pressure and reduce blood glucose levels in vivo. It stimulates insulin release with EC50 values of 200 nM for rat islets and 24 μM for MIN6 B-cell lines.
